Bright days and sunny skies highlight everything inside the home and place of business like a giant magnifying glass. It’s when dust particles in the air become more visible; they settle on surfaces, as a follow on result because pollen in grass, flowers, trees and weeds starts to increase during Spring and Summer months. As a cleaning company, we have to ensure we keep a beady eye out for dust and dust bunny build-up and anything that can help reduce small fibres of powdery unsightly fluff.
Our Rose (Happy Heavenly Birthday mum) loved nuturing plants of all sizes and I grew up with various kinds dotted throughout living areas inside our home. Plants are a natural living organism and without them, much like our internal organs inside our body; we would struggle to breathe and survive. Plants clean the air we breathe and filter out toxic irritants and pollution and here are a few air purifying plants that serve well to reduce dust and add a lushious dash of greenery.
Each one traps particles on their leaves and improve room tempaerature and humidy when it gets warm, and make . That’s why plants get so dusty - please wipe them gently, like you would a baby and favourite pet - they need cleaning frequently so they can keep wholesome and do their job.
English Ivy (Hedera helix)
Works well in envrionments with poor air flow and excellent at trapping airborne particles. Versatile in placement and trailing leaves suits most living spaces including hallway/entrances, offices and airy rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms.

Snake Plant (Dracaena trifasciata)
Improves air circulation and tall, sturdy leaves with sharp ended edges trap dust.

Boston Fern (Nephrolepis exaltata)
These tiny leaves on hanging over branches help with humidify the air and controls dust settling faster. A fact worth noting is Boston Fern also removes a common household pollutant formaldehyde from the air. Formaldehyde can be found in plywood, wallpaper, paint and wrinkle resistant synthetic fabric.

Wide leaves are great for catching dust and simliar to other dust reducing plants, peace lily helps with humidity and absorb room temperate which affects airborne dust in a beneficial way.

Popular, easy to care for plant. Great for high up placements and high-dust areas with soft arched leaves hanging gracefully to catch floating particles.

Easy to care for plant and vines trap dust as air particles navigate around them.

Areca Palm (Chrysalidocarpus lutescens)
Releases moisture into the air and helps to eliminate dust build up over time. Acts as a natural humidifier and supports the removal of indoor toxins.
